PR-96 TWO STROKE DIESEL ENGINE MODEL

TWO STROKE DIESEL ENGINE MODEL

PR-96

A two stroke diesel engine is a diesel engine that works in two strokes. It is simpler mechanically than the four-stroke engine. However it has the potential to produce twice as much power as a four-stroke engine of the same size.

This model shows the internal structure and the operating principles of an air-cooled two-stroke diesel engine.

It is manufactured with aluminium alloy and gun metal.

Ignition is shown by means of a miniature bulb.

Fuel supply is also sectioned.

It comes with a hand crank, provided for manual operation.

It is mounted on a base, with a labeled placard, that also has printed diagrams explaining the working of the engine.

This model helps to understand that how in a two-stroke engine, the four "cycles" of internal combustion engine theory (intake, compression, ignition, exhaust) occur in one revolution, 360 mechanical degrees, while in a four-stroke engine it occurs in two complete revolutions. This means that in a two-stroke engine, more than one function occurs at any given time during the engine's operation.
